Commentary on the Roman Peskov Trilogy

About the Trilogy

The "Roman Peskov" trilogy describes events taking place in Russia in the mid-1990s, and consists of three volumes:

  1. "Fantasy"
  2. "Adventure"
  3. "Prose"

Like any proper narrative, it has a "Prologue." And to save everyone the trouble, it doubles as the "Epilogue."

The "Prologue" introduces the trilogy's future characters. And since it's also the "Epilogue," it's where the results get summed up too.

The first volume, "Fantasy," tries to put questions to the reader that seem inconsequential at the time the events take place.

The second volume, "Adventure," describes with minute-by-minute precision the process of getting rich under wild Russian capitalism, unconstrained by either the law or morality.

The third volume, "Prose," tries to give non-obvious answers to the questions raised in the first volume.

Nothing too clever!
