«Predator 2» (1990) moved the alien hunter from the jungle of the original film to the streets of a near-future, crime-ridden Los Angeles, and swapped out Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Dutch Schaefer for Danny Glover as LAPD Lieutenant Mike Harrigan. The change in leading man didn’t hurt the film’s popularity on the Russian video-club circuit, where by 1993 Schwarzenegger’s absence from a given tape barely registered next to the far more important question of whether there was a Predator in it at all.
