This is clearly a reference to Vladimir Vysotsky’s song «White Silence.»
The song was written by Vladimir Vysotsky in 1972 for the film «Sannikov Land,» in which he was meant to star. However, because Vysotsky’s songs had aired on «Deutsche Welle» — a «hostile radio voice» — the Mosfilm studio’s artistic council refused to approve him for the role. The part of the adventurer-officer Yevgeny Krestovsky, written specifically for Vysotsky, went to Oleg Dal instead.
Four years later, the song, performed by the author himself, appeared in the film «72 Degrees Below Zero» (1976).
