«Life turned out great» is a joke from the early 1990s and a poster from the mid-90s.
First, the joke:
A New Russian is asleep at a restaurant table, face-down in a bowl of soup topped with black caviar.
His buddy walks in, sees him, comes over, claps him on the shoulder, and asks:
— So, Seryoga, how's life?
He lifts his bleary eyes, wipes the caviar off his face:
— Life turned out great.
The poster in the picture was unveiled to the public on March 17, 1997. Its author was Andrei Logvin. In case you didn't know, the text was laid out in letters made of black caviar against a background of red caviar.
