"Johnnyson" whiskey: the origin of the name

The name "Johnnyson" is a mashup of two famous whiskey brands: Ireland's "Jameson" and Scotland's "Johnnie Walker." Such naming was typical of products imitating well-known brands.

The technology behind whiskey knockoffs

Producing whiskey knockoffs in Eastern Europe rested on a few basic principles:

Rectified grain alcohol (from wheat, rye, or corn) was diluted to the desired strength (40–43%). To imitate the effect of aging, the following were added:
